Virtual Citizen of Perth, WA!!

An impression of Perth

3/06/2009

A couple of days ago, I met a friend of one of my friends who had just gotten back from Perth, WA.

This was a great opportunity for me to get even closer to the Perth lifestyle. Though this opportunity turned out to be not very comforting to what I had imagined.

The friend said many great things about the beach and lovely restaurants in Perth. But what she was not.... more »

Swine Flu and WA

4/05/2009

The swine flu threat is not being taken so seriously in Western Australia.

Western Australia’s chief health officer Tarun Weeramanthri:

“We definitely have the resources to keep testing people – we have got a strong public health system, we have an excellent laboratory system and we have an excellent surveillance system.

“There may well be cases in Australia. more »

Migration

26/04/2009

People migrate for different reasons.

But to many of them, migration has a vital meaning, a re-birth. The host society gives the migrants a great chance of building a new life and future. And in this sense, migration is a unique opportunity.

To me and my wife, migration marks a new beginning. We have plans. Our plans are based on our dreams.

Adam & Eve

Adam & Eve

In the garden of Eden
lived Adam & Eve,
Filled with repeating

Intolerant, impatient,
He wants to be himself,
Thus they.... more »

Words have magical powers. They can create. They can destroy. And sometimes beyond all human abilities and possessions, it is only the words than can make a change; even in today’s chaotic world.

Is the US changed? Is the Muslim world.... more »

Who is Muhammad Khatami?

29/03/2009

Invited by Professor Joseph Camilleri, director of the Centre for Dialogue at La Trobe University, Iran’s former president Muhammad Khatami had an eight-day visit to Australia to give a series of speeches in different places in Sydney starting March 25.

As someone who has followed the news and events in Iran for the past decade, I consider this enormously vital for the world,.... more »

Religion in the 21st century

14/03/2009

Religion was originally initiated to help people have a good life.

In the time when human’s logic and knowledge were not able to answer, or to seek an answer to many of mankind’s crucial questions, religion was the source for many of the answers.

But as we all know, after the prophet Muhammad, God never spoke to mankind in form of the verses like we have in Quran and the.... more »

Virtually soaked at the beach

10/03/2009

Recently I found a live webcam of City Beach.

It shows people hanging by the beach and although there is no movement to the camera angle, I have been quite familiar with the area through the pictures I have seen from the place.

Being 6.5 thousand miles away, I still find it very pleasant on the beach; especially after long hours of work in the office, it is fun to see.... more »
