A funny thing is happening to me as I age. I find myself becoming more compassionate towards other people.
Except the ones who don't use deodorant before boarding public transport, or
waste electricity, or treat public areas like their own personal

How was Mother's Day this year for everyone?
My siblings and I were afraid to ask Mum what she wanted for Mother's Day, because she would have probably replied, "Grandchildren." So we took her (and the rest of the family) out for a nice meal instead.
I must say that I found the Mother's Day marketing frenzy quite frightening this year.

Last night, as I blearily fell asleep listening to the rain, I briefly considered unplugging my laptop from the wall, in case of a power surge.
I then decided that three metres was much too far to walk and I would take my chances. Just think, a lightning strike might have fried my motherboard and this blog post would never have existed. The horror!

There was a rather contentious opinion piece on news.com.au last week called [the] "Folly of Paid Maternity Leave". So, a few nights ago, in an interesting lead-up to the long weekend, I received a nuisance phone call.
It was suitably pathetic, and I hung up as soon as I realised what it was, but it got me thinking about how a) having an unlisted phone number would be both awesome AND fantastic, and in fact, b) everyone should have a silent/unlisted number by default, and c) people should only have.... more »
