IT is not often one finds a dining venue tucked away in the heart of suburbia that is truly worth visiting, but Whirlwynd Cafe Restaurant in Manning is just one of those places.
Owners Nicole Fisher and Matt Novak have created a little piece of heaven which delicately combines restaurant and cafe dining to suit all tastes.
The grilled chicken burger – served with fresh tomato, avocado, grilled balsamic red onion, aioli and gourmet lettuce in a toasted turkish bun – is a lesson in fine quality cafe-style dining.
The special barramundi fish cakes – served with a dill mayonnaise, mixed salad and beer-battered fries – were light, fluffy and full of flavour.
Attention to detail is paramount with dishes like this and at Whirlwynd even the fries are something special.
There are a range of cafe-style dishes available – from a BLT to a steak sandwich and fish and chips – and a selection of salads sure to satisfy the fussiest of diners.
The dinner menu – available when Whirlwynd opens at nights on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays – includes a range of delectable dishes.
From chicken liver parfait to calamari and gnocchi to blue swimmer crab, the entrees alone are enough to tantalise the tastebuds of the most discerning diner.
And with mains like barramundi fillet, Timber Hill pork loin and beef tenderloin, the dinner menu alone is enough to ensure first-time diners pop back in for seconds.
The friendly service and trendy decor are the icing on the cake and go a long way to ensuring you will come back for more.
